Coloured Steyr Compensators
Hi, I am new to air pistol target shooting (used to shoot .38 Special and .45 ACP in the good old days!).
I have just bought a Steyr LP1-P with a darkish red Steyr Compensator. I have not been able to find anything about such coloured compensators. Gun number 723***.
Too new to the Forum to be permitted to post a photograph.
When were these offered and what other colours were available?
As an aside, if anyone has a small left-handed Steyr LP pistol grip knocking around then my son would be a very grateful recipient!!
Many thanks,
Andrew

Compensator
Are you talking about the complete barrel sleeve?
If so have you googled LP1 or LP1P images?
Found this. http://www.shooting-ua.com/arm-books...tm#Steyr%A0LP1
Third from bottom.
Just had a thought. Is your pistol compressed air or co2?
If co2 you might want to get it converted to compressed air!
The cylinder you have purchased is compressed air.

Dear BigEars,
No it is a full barrel shroud like the one Nick Marshall has found.
Thank you Nick for this link. I had search dozens of LP1/LP1-P pictures but not found another one like it.
It is air powered not CO2. Perhaps Steyr just decided to do something different. I believe that they brought out a limited edition for the USA Olympic team. Still interested to know more.
Many thanks to you both.

I have been informed that these coloured compensators were produced around the time of the 2000 Olympics and some teams chose colours associated with their country.
I have also been informed that these compensators are longer than the standard LP10 and won’t fit a standard Steyr case. I have now discovered that this LP1-P is approximately 15 mm longer than a standard LP10 and the sight length is about 370 mm, which is 35 mm longer than stated in its numbered manual.
