Camo.. I know been asked so many times before.. but not by me
So camo is it worth it? Do you use it? Are you one for real tree type stuff, army issue or just plain one colour.

It's nice, but I'd never wear jacket and trousers together.

I'd wear a jacket with no trousers, or trousers with no jacket.

Also it tones very nicely with the right shade of orange.

No point buying one that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Be careful what washing detergent you use as some have optical brighteners and can make you stick out if the quarry can see you glow when out shooting

I’ve always washed my shooting stuff in plain water so it didn’t get the clean detergent smell but I didn’t know about optical brightneners and I haven’t used camo in years and some of the closest To rabbit or deer I’ve got is wearing neutral colours

Some articles suggest what we perceive a camouflage, isn’t through the eyes of the prey.

I wear a mix of camo and green gear when shooting (mainly greens).

I buy gear for performance (weather wise). The camo stuff I have is mainly ex military goretex for the rain.

I'll choose the appropriate gear for the weather regardless of being in the field or at the range.

No bright colours obviously ,but always camo gloves and lightweight mesh hood/ veil when hunting.

Movement and "pale hands and faces" give the game away and noise of course.
Just wear natural drab coloured outer clothing.

A mixture of different camo types can work well, and I never ever wash my camo gear (it is kept in the garage due to ponging a bit) really it's a case of matching the camouflage to the environment you are shooting in which will change with the seasons. I find spring and summer when there's more greenery dp m works quite well but Autumn/ winter the darker realtree patterns blend in better. Overall camo doesn't make that big a difference as it's mainly your fieldcraft that gets you close to the quarry, but let's face it it can't do any harm whilst hunting. Hope that helps mate.

No one has mentioned another reason of wearing camo is because the amount of crud you get covered in, the snagging of a thorn that's tears, etc. Ex military, or even new, camo doesn't cost a fortune nowadays, so you won't cry when, not if, it gets ripped or worn.
I'm looking out for a mtp umbrella for when it rains.

I've been hunting in bright coloured tee-shirts and still managed to bag something. Good fieldcraft fills the pot...
