    Tennant's auction

Did anyone here follow Tennant's auction on Wednesday? There was a fair selection of airguns.
I was at the sale and was surprised at some of the low prices achieved in the airgun section, especially the pre war BSA underlevers, very few of which were sold at more than a hundred pounds. I'm sure that someone would have been quite happy but it wouldn't be the vendor.

I had my eye on lot 391 the snider rifle. Was shocked to see it go for so much! I though these short versions were not as popular as the 2 or 3 band ones!

    Oh well

Yes, something like 600 with the premium was a high price, they had it catalogued as a de-act but it wasn't, I suppose an unmolested one is more desirable and the carbines are scarcer than a two band The marking, RCMP (Canada?) probably had something to do with it. That's auctions for you, I bought a few interesting things but not the ones that I really wanted.
