Hi all
Developed a sub sonic load for
My 7x57 today using trail boss and 165gr sp
Average Velocity 1005 fps :-)
Puts a smile on my face every time I shoot it
Ideal for my friends children when they fancy a shot
At a paper target
:-)

That sounds very interesting. Bet it’s great fun. Does it group well? I’ve had a hankering for a 7mm of some sort for quite a while now but can’t decide which one although the 7x64 is floating to the top
Shot a lot of deer with the 7x57 in my younger days. One of the great cartridges that deserves to be more popular than it is but there’s always some bugger out there ready to reinvent the wheel(7mm-08 rem)
Hi
Sorry I don’t know what the groups are
Like at 100 yards yet as I did this development to get them subsonic at 30 yards over a crony
I am usually an accuracy nut, but this load is just for pure fun
So am not really that bothered how accurate they are as these
Will only be used on paper to create a BIG Smile on my face and the children
Yes I did a lot of thinking when choosing a 7mm (used to have the swede)
I am a big chap but find to much recoil does nothing for my accuracy!
So went for the BSA Cf2 7x57 Stutzen as case capacity was similar to the swede all though I did fancy a straight.284 Winchester
ATB
I know the pleasure of shooting subsonic full-bore. Try it with a modertor too!
Hi
yes I was using a north star as I took it out off
The Stutzen stock and bedded the action in a sporter
Stock and free floated the barrel, it shoots a lot better now!!
Yes I agree
Brass for the 7x57 isn’t readily available as other
Brass but it’s for sale by various manufacturers
I use Stella & belliot for my subs ( stain them black )
So I know there the subs
And more hard to come by , RWS for my hunting loads
You’ve inspired me to work up a subsonic/reduced load for my 308 so I bought some Trail boss at the robbing bar steward of a gun dealer in Inverness at the weekend. There’s some good info on the internet but do you have any hints or tips?
Gentlemen,
Can we please call it by its proper name. .275 Rigby
None of this johnny foreign nomenclature on the BBS.
