I was also going to throw that into the mix.. Pro sport.. they look lovely.. but don't get much of a mention in air gun world
Always seem to be the 97 or the tx.
If I'm going to buy a Springer I want the best I can afford.. but like I said I've need fired a Springer so just want people's opinions.
    Cheers
Ref the ProSport (and don't get me wrong, it is a mighty fine piece of kit), you may like to check out post #33 and #34 on member harvey_s's thread entitled 'Do I want a .177 ... ?' before you commit to the visually beautiful ProSport?

No, it is lighter than the TX200 and the HW97K, so is arguably (?) not quite as efficient at absorbing excess recoil as the other two ... I never found this a problem with any of my ProSports however, but we are all different?

No not really but if you're intending to carry it around a field all day then it's weight may be a problem.

I've got a Prosport, TX and TX HC all in .177

The Prosport is by far and away the best looking springer I own (and there's a lot to choose from!) but getting the same level of accuracy as the full length TX is a bit harder. Needs a lot more concentration. Round an HFT course I would probably lose 2 or 3 extra points with the Prosport just because you have to be more switched on to get the best out of it.

Depends what your priorities are. If I could only have one springer and didn't shoot competitions, it would be the PS

In my eyes the Prosport is one of those luxury "Investment" type rifles, it's going to do the job and it's as beautiful as hell but it's one of those rifles you buy when you have everything else and you just want to spoil yourself with something special.

I'm afraid I don't have everything.. far from it.
As was said the pro sport is a beautiful rifle.. it's just that everyone seems to agree that the main 2 are the hw97 and the tx200...
Either way I'll need to put in some practice.

Try not to be shocked by the shot cycle of any of the choices. You are used to a pcp and there will be absolutely no comparison to the springer. I have many TX200's and all are pretty calm as springers go, but when I shoot a pcp and then pick up my springer, it feels very harsh indeed. I once had a day long shooting session with an old Pro Target, an Air Arms pcp, and it took me a week to begin to feel that my TX was smooth again.
