Hammer
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Yes hammer is broken.
The pistol had a hard life I could see that when I bought it last week.
It did not fit in the grip correctly and safety felt loose/vague.
I have spare grips and it fitted straight in but trigger was intermittent so obviously something wrong.
Do not fancy stripping the trigger anyone nearish to Leicester that could help????
ok so took the assembly apart.
god knows where the end of the hammer has gone.
If anyone could send me a pic or actual size i am sure i could make it out of stainless and poss a quantity
i know someone that has a firm that makes metal stuff.
as i do not have the end bit i cant make one
Protek have spare hammers for £15 IIRC

Wow, they went quick... Vic only just found them ! Knibbs also had for around £18. I got one on the bay for the same price but postage inc..
It's a very tricky part to make - I'd really not consider it. but you could just weld a new "prong" onto the old hammer, and grind back to shape - that'd work and the prong dimensions are far less critical than the other bits. It will also need re-tempering, but it's not under much load/stress.

I do not think that the info ref these guns is accurate - I bought a MKII that according to records was from a time machine - five years ish before they were made ((I just wish I could find the bill, I know I have it but . . . ?
Have repaired/renovated a few (got one nickel plated - could be mine).
Still got my original (MKII with scope) plus a MKI I bought later. Read lots, looked into books, all confusion.

Always ready to buy another Webley pistol and another and . . . .
Here are photographs of the Hammer:
The length of the Hammer Arm is 19.75mm from the sharp angle on the main body to the tip.
The overall length from tip to tip is 43.60mm
Great thanks
I will print them off and take them with whats left of mine to my engineer mate.
still no idea where the bit that broke of has gone
hopefully I can get them sorted if I can who wants one???
I was testing the pistol without the grip attached.
I was checking the mechanism was aligned correct the same as my working one.
it broke and........ just cannot find it.
