    Can we have a "depends on the stock design, especially the thickness and shape of the pistol grip (and your hand size and shape)", option? Because that is the correct answer. What works for you works for you.

    Sorry, I couldn't resist, having been in Portsmouth dockyard for an extended stretch it's a classic STD term
    As for options..
    Well yes I suppose but that is the bit I'd like to hear about because the information you give is what will help me make the most educated guess on which I'd like to buy, after You lot have said things like "this generally works with this stock" " that generally works with that grip" or "I've got short fingers & this stock" etc etc..
    I realize that there is no right answer I'd just like to hear your answer and the reasons why so I deduce better what I need

    I like the Rowan Extra Setback blade but the CS800 makes it feel like it's too far back I think. I may have been better off with a regular Setback but it's done now and it's not unusable.
