The answer IS no. It will just incur paperwork, costs and agro for the thousands that use them safely.

A driving licence is far better value, can be essential for most people, last many years, demonstrates a level of competency (a full licence). An Airgun licence is not comparable and will not have any affect on those that have no idea how to use them safely.

... which is a fair point. Even a FAC doesn't demonstrate competency.

Value? Shooting is the wrong hobby if you like value,Also It is comparable as there both licenses,you need a license to do what ever is licensed,as for how to use them you been on the roads lately or seen any of them police tv driving programs.

There is a lot of people who got guns around this way that ain't used them for years , Most people around here that unless it was on the news for a couple of weeks every night they would most probs never know about a licence if it was to be that you would need one to own a gun,
