as for parcelhero, they are cheap but from my personal experience they are a nightmare to deal with if its not straightforward when I shipped something using them, after it got to the country I was shipping to ended up having to sort pretty much everything else out myself which was a nightmare including travelling halfway across the country to pick the package up that was to be delivered to my door, but that's a very long arduous story for another day
great - thanks for this. Let me know if all goes smoothly.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I might be a little more careful with what I have them ship knowing this. So far it's only been good with my orders but I didn't know it could go this badly wrong.

you might be ok US to UK, mine was uk to the Dominican Republic and a 5 day delivery took a couple of months to sort out and several trips to Santo Domingo to resolve, their customer services in the UK were helpful but about as much use a solar panel on the dark side of the moon, giving different status updates call by call, the costs incurred with all of the extras would have almost paid most of my flight costs for me to take it

well, just had my payment to egun seller declined by the online payment transfer company because they won't sanction payment for 'weapons' that'll teach me to use egun as the reference for the seller. Told them it was for the legitimate purchase of low powered air rifle but they would not have it!
    Transfer not very wise lol!

For those of you importing successfully - what description are egun sellers putting on the goods being shipped?

I always used 'sports equipment' . It's not a lie and you're not broadcasting your business to the world.
I've posted dozens of rifles and pistols in the spar post office around the corner from me. When challenged for a second time I always repeated myself that it's sports equipment. I don't want the junkie behind me in the queue to know that I'm posting guns, so he can follow me home and have a go. Neither do I want some of the questionable shop staff to know my business

Well I have just received my fwb300s, door to door in less than 3 days via dhl. There was no paperwork as to content that I could see, but would reiterate use sports equipment

    hope it goes well

Just checked and got a good quote for collection in Germany and shipping to uk.
Do I just book online as a parcel? Or can you inform them that it’s an air rifle when you’re booking it.
I’m assuming they need to know what it is so they use DHL in Germany and parcelforce in the uk? Quote said it was Hermes who’d carry out the job.

    Cheers,
    Matt.

    Honestly not sure about that.
Last rifle I had delivered came in from Holland and was shipped directly via UPS, no change of carrier coming into the UK.
I think there's a difference between what they'll carry and what they'll 'accept' at pickup.

Personally I avoid Hermes whenever I can, they're terrible (at least in my area) and have to date delivered 4 parcels that looked like they were run over and on two separate occasions lost 40" TVs. I only get Hermes deliveries because Amazon insists on using them.

    Angry UK shipping

Canadian trying to understand UK shipping!!!It seems like it is ok to have an airgun shipped to an individual in the UK from another country. ...but the reverse is not true. I am talking a low powered break barrel under 12 ft/lbs. Help me out here...frustrated.

Under the violent crime reduction act (VCR act) it's illegal for a UK dealer to ship a "firearm" (airguns are legally firearms) or pressure parts, direct to an individual because they need to confirm the recipients ID.

The VCR act does not apply outside the UK, so an overseas dealer is not covered & therefore can ship to your door, it's that simple.

Posting an airgun from the UK is a PITA, because the only legal carrier ParcelForce48 is UK-UK only.
A RFD might be able to, otherwise it's a specialist export company which will cost a small fortune.
