    Loading for 6.5 x 55

139g Lapua Scenar and 42g of N160 is good to 900 yards through my Tikka T3.

N160 with 120 gr Sierra Pro Hunters - very little meat damage.....and a little cheaper than Noslers!!

    Agree with that.

But from what I have learnt there is hardly a bullet in 264 that will do both stalking and targets >600 yds especially with N160. IMHO if the OP wants to shoot his rifle for stalking at extended ranges then 120gr and N160 is excellent, but if it is equally important to shoot long targets than I would be thinking of keeping the 120gr/N160 for stalking but consider a change of bullet design and an alternative powder combination like Berger/Lapua with RS60 for long range targets.

Of course if the OP intention was target work out to say 400 yds then yes either Nosler/Sierra would be good.

Nosler 129 gr ABLR possibly fits the bill

I used N160 with 120g pro hunters on deer
And 120gr Nosler bt for long rang target/varminting out to 600 yards
Both were very accurate loads with the bt having a low ES

This is the issue, mind you not far off hornady's latest pricing. Last lot of 35 gr v-max in to the RFD are going out at £30/100, 143 gr eldx are on a par with the the ABLR.

Will be running Barnes VGs in the hornet going forward!

Only for lighter bullets around 100 gr, 120s at a push but your case fill will be crap. Conversely N10 will work for the heavier end of .243 87/100 and 120/140 in x55
