The older Bushnell Legend 5-15x40 often comes up at that kind of money, will trounce a hawke in low light, has a good mildot ret and AO.

Why buy a used one when the better Vantage Max can be had for well under a ton? - spec is actually better than the more expensive Panorama which is why I suspect it was dropped - it also gives you the lifetime warranty....
