Yesterday I finally got my Umarex H&K P30 back from John Rothery after over two months. Their armourer claimed he could not find any fault with it, despite the photographic evidence and damaged pellets I had provided. He still had the gall to label it as repaired though! I managed to fire one 8 round magazine from it single action today before it started miss firing exactly as before.
I don’t know who the armourer is whom John Rothery employs to inspect and repair air weapons but I suggest they sack him and employ another one who actually has the skills, competence and the ethic to do a proper job! It is the reputation for excellence of John Rothery and of Umarex that suffers from his undoubted incompetence.
I am now resigned to living with a faulty pistol. I am nevertheless very grateful to the young lady at John Rothery for the efforts she made on my behalf and especially for writing off the costs. She had given me assurances in good faith that she was ultimately unable to fulfill.
