Poly beads are stable, cheap, light weight and non-absorbent.

I found a local company who was only too pleased t provide a few kg for free.

    Happy days.

There's plenty weight enough for use with my .223Rem. They'll be heavy enough for a recoilless rifle, or low recoiling one.

Ah, we maybe at cross purposes, Dave.
I don't mean polystyrene balls, which weight nothing and will flatten; I mean polythene balls - the type they melt down to make bottle etc.

I contacted a local company, that turned out to be 500 metres away, who gave me what I need FOC.
Maybe you could try the same?

I think i remember the tackdriver copy took about 9kg of rice to fill it (about a fiver) - although i do only use it indoor/dry weather, its better than my bi-pods imho for accuracy on bench rest shooting (wouldn't want to lug it around in the field though), the sides of the bag grip the rifle so it barely moves. For £14 you cant go wrong, good luck.

From our sponsor, they come as a pair and they are very good quality, I have two sets one of which I use for actual shooting and the other which is lightly filled and used as a rest for maintenance.
Looks good value. I have the equivalent Caldwell 'Dead Shot Combo' for silly money, although it is very well made and will probably last a lifetime. Mine stay dry so I used rice but it's (too) heavy, I may swap that out for polythene balls or cheap Airsoft BBS which will tolerate damp in the event that they venture outdoors or get left in the garage. Avoid using rice if you leave it in the garage.... potential mice food.

My only comment is I used polystrene beads to fill mine....please for the love of God don't do the same!
Bleedin' things go everywhere no matter how careful you are - getting statically attracted to everything other than the fill hole in the bag which appears to be an anti-gravity singularity in space-time that repels all polystrene matter.
Thanks for the tip, however it would make for an entertaining YouTube video

No, the company 500 metres away is local to me. Dave74 is in Aberdeen.
The address I gave him was for his benefit.

    You are most thoughtful

I'll look out for some near me, should be a lot cheaper than the same volume in Airsoft BBS.
