No, but get one.
I always hankered after an HW35E as a teenager but never bought one. Just realised they are still for sale and the reviews I've seen have been pretty positive. Power up a bit to 11ft/lb plus and allegedly the barrel droop has been sorted. I love that walnut stock and am sorely tempted. Sportsman Gun Centre have them for £289 which seems pretty reasonable.
Have any of you had experience with the modern HW35E?

No, but get one.
THE BOINGER BASH AT QUIGLEY HOLLOW. MAKING GREAT MEMORIES SINCE 15th JUNE, 2013.
NEXT EVENT :- May 4/5, 2024.........BOING!!
You know you need one!
I've not tried a new one, but I've got a few 'old' ones, all fettered with 'old skool' techniques and shooting very sweetly in deed.
Remember the 35 is effectively a short stroke 80, albeit with a long transfer port... Mine certainly make the required power and are a please to shoot.
Cheers Steve
Do it sir
I sill have my 35E from 1981 still a great bit of kit
You only have the rights you are willing to fight for
I picked up a 35E from another rather nice chap on here last year and love it. Not 100 percent sure but I believe the modern E has a 19" barrel as opposed to the older model with a 22" hence the barrel droop being sorted.
Brought one of the special editions nickel finish E's from BAR a few months ago and it's lovely right out of the box which is rare for a HW!!!. Word has it that the nickel version is soon to be finished? Mach 1.5
Get an older one with proper quality European walnut!
The early model is is a nice classic rifle but they have a number of problems , there a short stroke, leather piston washer, long transfer port and often leaking cylinder this is due to the long transfer port. over the last few years i have had a number of the later models sent to me to tune, iv got a early 35E that i have refurbished and i found myself liking the new ones. I bought a new 35E fitted a V-Mach V-Glide kit ,shortening the barrel that is 19 inc on the new ones and fitting a V-Mach silencer. Myself i like the 35 more than the 95 sadly the later ones dont have the nice grade walnut stocks like the early models had.

Jim - for info....There's a HW35K coming up on Freeads for sale in Yeovil for £150.00
Hi Lynn
was that a reduced bore conversion, and if so, can it make the power in .177?
If it can, I think I would be very tempted - I have an older one with a great stock
BTW the 80 reduced bore that you did for me a few years ago is still as good as it ever was. Totally Sublime ... a pleasure to shoot and own
