Don't have one anymore, but there was a special mount for scoping the Sheridan. Think it was called an intermount. Basically was 2 halves that clamped over the barrel.

    Hi

I did but not for long, Needed a neck like a Giraffe for eye relief!

By the way, It seems I had Crosman intermounts which don't have tjhe correct profile and were trying to lift the soldered barrel from the cylinder tube!!

I have a set of 'Proper' Sheridan intermounts now somewhere!, Not sure where the heck they are though!!

    Thumbs up

I bought this Tasco Pro Class pistol scope which actually came on a set of Sheridan intermounts from a local bootsale!!

EDIT- I thought about fitting this scope to the Streak well forward to achieve the correct long eye relief as it was so uncomfotable stretching the neck to look through the rifle scope when mounted!

This is quite useful for Sheridan dating :-

And I'll do my best to post a picture of my Silverstreak with scope tomorrow.

I've had a few streak with scopes fitted over the years.

As said, the 2 pc intermounts do work but mean the scope is mounted forward of the breech. A scout type (long eye relief scope may be better).

As also said, be very wary of the crosman mounts as they may pull barrel away from cylinder.

There's also this, which is for the benjamin rifles but you'd have to do some research to see if it would fit.

My Silver Streak serial # is 500229, Think someone told me it was the late 1980's, Had a look on Micks link and the last listing for the sheridan rifles starts in 1985 at serial # 437801 and is left open, Not sure when production was ceased but it seems like mine could possibly be one of the last as it's after that number!

It looks like I need to get a one piece set back mount to get correct eye relief.

    All the best Mick

    Courtesy of U J Backus 500229 is from 1987.
Manufacture of the C Series ceased in 1990 (last recorded serial number 575060) and was replaced with the C9 Series in 1991 which began with serial numbers around 120000.

My C9 has a Williams peep rear. Best option for short-medium range use, IMHO.

From what I've heard and read, both the Crosman Pro-Blox and the Sheridan Intermount put pressure on the barrel/cylinder brazing and should therefore be avoided.

There was a guy in the US a few years ago offering the " Integramount", that clamped on the breech, but (a) I think only for the Crosman C9A, and (b) he doesn't do that any more. Best solution, if you can bear the otherwise less impressive C9A.

Williams peep sight is still a great, classic, option for these.
