    Airgun range finders

    Hi ,

Does anyone have any suggestions on range finders that are not too expensive that are suitable for Airgunning and for the rim fire.

    Cheers

visionking 6x25 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Visionking-.../dp/B00HT3P3IK paid £50 for mine last year.

    also handy as a monocular.

Apparently its the same as a hawke one but with a different name

Don't worry that its only accurate to -+1 metre. even the top of the range Leica or Swarovski is no better

    Range finder

The gun mounted nv range finder are very good, but are difficult to set up in daylight unless you all ready have an add on/night sight. Fit them to your scope and your sorted, on the bay complete with adjustable weaver mount for around £140 I have one mounted on my cricket for daylight use and one on my photon for night.

I've always found estimating ranges difficult as I only have one good eye, so my depth perception isn't as good as someone with good binocular vision.
I tried the hand held type of rangefinder, a Hawke model, but couldn't get on with it.
It had no eye relief, and as a spectacle wearer I found that I had to take them off to use it.
I recently purchased the V4.1z scope mounted rangefinder from Custom Rifle Scopes and find it to be excellent.
    It's £140.
You can zero it to your scope crosshairs, easier done if you have Night Vision as you can actually see the laser, but it can also be done with a target card mounted on a stick.
Simply switch it to range find with the rat tail switch , fix your crosshairs on the target and press the switch again to lock the range which can then be read off.
This model does up to .223 centre fire I believe, with a modified version for larger calibres.

Also rate the vision King as a cheap accurate rangefinder, though find it hard to use wearing glasses. I still prefer my 20year old bushnel for hunting.

Well if your paying for a swaro or one of its stable mates...it is probably going to ping out a way bit further with accuracy than a vision king. You will also be able to see a clear bright image rather than one that used a quality street yellowed toffee wrapper as a lens and probably more features such as BDC and less error in rain or foggy conditions.

You buy kit suitable to the needs and a 50 quid vision king is the right choice. It probably wont compete at 1500 yards or low light or shitty atmospherics etc.

The visionking will do it for non FAC air or one could learn tonuse the range estimation system in one head.

    Ah its
    Accuracy: +/- 1m

so its good kit when Your selling one but not when people recommend others with the same accuracy they are shit

the OP asked for rimfire and Airgun ranges and not too expensive .

Have you looked through the visionking one or just being a kit snob as usual ?

Are you always a twat. There was nothing wrong with the NS. It did the job very well. There is nothing wrong with the leica either but I generally buy the best I can afford. For airgun my posts are saying the vision king will be fine. There is no need to spend on top kit. Where the likes of the nikko and vision king will fall down is on a gloomy image when in daylight and at longer ranges potentially. As my other kit will hit 1200 yards i want something that will ping me CF rang3s not air. The vk will be fine for this use. However. If your intended use is more than air ranges then other kit comes into play.

If I dont think the kit is up to scratch then I wont buy it. If I dont think its good enough to sell I wont sell it. None of my buyers have cme back to me nor have I had any negative feedback on the very few sales I make.

Sometimes I buy cheaper to get used to the technology such as NV. I still have the cheapo digi mono I bought from.Lidle or Aldi.as actually...is damned good. But I hqve much more expensive kit kit now and will be going top.end thermal too.

Right tool for the job. Buy cheap usually...but not always... means a compromise in quality or constriluction.or performance or....its a long list.

And I would say the same thing again about the Nikko. It is good kit but I upgraded. I made a clear statement as to WHY I was selling it.

Now if younhave an issue with me PM me and we can chat but otherwise the second word is.
