    New barrels,should have known, didn't.

Hi, as above really. Wanted to purchase a new barrel for an AirArms rifle and could not get one. OK go to Chambers thinking OH dear that is £25 RFD charge to pick it up from 'my' RFD. No the only option was a barrel blank which I could buy and have delivered straight to me, That is good.
    Cheers.

Hello, it was for a Air Arms MK1 S200. Sorted now, barrel blank and swarf, all I need now is for a reamer to arrive and I am all done.
    Thank you.
    Cheers.

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Exactly what I've been banging on about for ages.

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

Buy one through your local firearms dealer direct from air arms.

Well you see, buying it through a local RFD you see was my first post of call, he that I have always used and got all my bits from and is the main supplier of spares, was unfortunately unable to supply. Basically if he is unable to source then you have had it. I thought that I might have stood a chance with Chambers, Knibbs etc. but that turned out to be no chance.
Hey ho, I have learnt that you can order a blank and get it delivered, to your door, next day.
    Cheers.

Silco do barrel blanks, about 2/3 the price of chambers.

Worth thinking about if there is a next time.

For the uninitiated, what needs done to change a ‘blank’ into a usable barrel?

Thank you all. I don't think I will have to do it again. Thanks Bucketboy I had completely forgotten about Silco and will keep them in mind. I will go and remind myself what they do now.
    Cheers.

    lots.

Its way cheaper to buy a factory barrel if you can.

It needs to be machined to fit the rifle at the breech.

Then screw cut if you want.

Then it has to be blued or finished to match the rifle.

    Then fitted.

So unless you have all the equipment each stage can cost £££.

Isn't the S200 actually a CZ built rifle, did you attempt to get one direct from them ?
