    Theoben rapid block

    Hi all i have just got an early theoben rapid 7 mk1 it's a lovely thing but the finish on the block has seen better days and I would like it re done i think they are anodized does anyone know where to have this done many thanks

    Anodizing is much the same process as chroming so look for a local chrome platters.

    Theres a place in Basildon called 'action electroplating' Ive used them and their work is good, never had a block done though as the old stuff has to be dipped/stripped, then polished as any marks show up like a sore thumb

    I have been reading that re anodising can really damage the block and mess up the tolerances is this true and is the an alternative finish I can have on the block many thanks

    A mate of mine spoke with Theoben when they were still in business and this is indeed what he was told by them. I would go down the route of an alternative finish.

    Anodising will dimensionally change the part, Cerakote will only dimensionally change the externals

    I do both and Cerakote would be much better for a Rapid block

    As previously mentioned the paint itself is American but there are a number of places in the UK that use this coating that you can take your rifle/parts to be done.
