Not been able to attend the bashes for a bit, and only had the briefest of contacts with you Craig, but what a horrible thing to be going through. Please add my best wishes to the pile, and hopes for a miraculous full recovery or dignified conclusion.

Hi all.
We’ve been totally taken aback by all of your kind words, thank you all so much.

John is still semi conscious and down to minimal life support. He’s having visits pretty much constantly from 11am to 8pm (they allow these extended hours in the critical unit at the QE), so if he can hear, he’s being continually updated on the World Cup by his family and friends.
I have to say, the people who staff the QE and the specialists who are looking after John, are nothing short of angels. If I could have my time over again, I’d learn medicine. These people are the true heroes of the world and I’ve no words enough to phrase and thank them.
We’re continuing praying for a dignified end result for him.
