Webley premier markings
Just bought a nice little Webley air pistol of a member on here. Thought it was odd since normally a Webley Premier has a letter marking behind the trigger on the left side of the gun. This one does not. Though it does have a letter marking under the trigger guard. It looks like an E or F while behind the grip is a rather large E stamped to the frame along with the batch number and manufacture date, which I read as 8 73 for August 1973.
Anyone know why this is different? I thought that if it was an F then maybe it was one of the last before the mk 2's came out but with the letter E stamping I am a bit confused.

It's an 'E' series Premier produced in August '73. The 'E' is in the normal place on the left side of the frame behind the trigger, just a bit further back than some, although this placing is not unusual. The letter 'F' under the trigger guard is most likely an inspection mark.
