Hi what powder are you using to replace Varget.
I'm reloading 30 cal 243 and 22-250
it and um covers most problems in life
N-140. I used varget in my 308 and when I moved over to the vihtavouri powder it was a very similar load.
Same here, Vit N140.
Use it in my 6mmbr and .224 weatherby , also used it in my .243 when I had that.
For heavier bullets in .243 (over 80gn) N160 is recommended.
RS52 performs very like varget, but its double based. Perhaps if you list intended bullet weights so you can get more detailed answers
Do nothing, achieve nothing
We have all moved onto the Lovex powders
To be honest there are elements of Nitro in most powders these days. RS52 is not a conventional DB powder by formulation but it is very good with temp stability and producing high velocities without nasty spikes.
I used circa 450 rounds of 5.56 with it last week at the Imperial with temps topping 32 degrees with no surprises.
I'm a maggot in another life you know
