That's very nice, a Custom stock of Sheffield CS700. Didn't know they did them for the 57. Could be a very nice custom gun if you could get a muzzle weight cum underlever catch like a 97. Definitely replace the seals and spring and start the accuracy quest from there. If it cures it invest in some fitted guides to quieten things down and it will be a very nice gun indeed.

You can tell all that just by the pictures? I bought it off a friend from a gun club we used to go to - Westleton in Suffolk. I don't know anything about it before then - just that the owner had the stock made. I will get the internals right one way or another - I'm not sure yet whether to get a kit or parts or ask someone who is an expert in these things. I like to and do fix things myself, its just finding out where I can get parts or knowing who to go to.
I was given a name at the beginning of this thread which is much appreciated.

I think my friend may have bought it off the sales forum here. I'm going to have to check now as it was several years ago.

PS I'm not quite sure why the huge pictures appear like that. I thought I had just inserted links. At least you get a good view of it.
