    HW95 barrel alignment problem

    Hello everyone,

I’m hoping for some help regarding my offset barrel alignment after fitting a tuning kitty my HW95..

The problem is that the barrel is leaning towards the left after reassembling?

I can remember three metal shims that fitted near the breach & barrel liver bolt. I only replaced two of these from memory (one either side of the breach).

Could the missing shim reall make that much difference?

It may be out of my skill level to sort this out so if anyone could recommend someone to fix this I would be very greatful.

    Many thanks in advance..

    Matt

You need to watch those tuning kittys!

If there were two shims on one side it would have been for a reason, my first move would be to put them in.

**Top Tip: The top from a bic biro is an Hw owners freind. The soft, plastic pointy clip is perfect for pushing the shim in, then wiggle the cap in the bolt hole to centralise it**

    Kitty’s

I told myself at the time not to take it to bits 🤦♂️

Would you happen to know the side that both shims should go on if the barre is leaning left?

    All the best,

    Matt

First thought is to say putting it on the left will push the barrel to the right but then we are talking about normally parallel faces and a shim would only displace a parallel barrel by its thickness. So, second thought is that placing the shim on the right hand side will increase the gap between faces on that side by enough for the left hand side of the clamping faces to push the barrel over to the right.
Of course I am probably completely wrong so given it is an easy matter to remove and replace them just have a go and try it and if it doesn't work change them over.
Sorry if this isn't of much help. Oh, and none of my 95's , and I have three of them, has more than one shim on either side

    Fixit

Is there anywhere I could send it/take it to to fix it?

It was a year or two ago when I took it to bits.

I tried SFS but they have an 18week turn around 😮

If it needs fixing then yes, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Pm or ring me if you get stuck

    Unhappy hw95

    Thanks all for your input,

I've taken the gun apart & the barrel is bent

Not only that, I've managed to damage the full length slip over barrel mod..

Any idea where i could get a new .177 breech & barrel?

I assume they are one part?.

    Many thanks again,

    Matt

That's bad news is that, you can get new barrels delivered to your door from sportwaffen Schneider in Germany bud.
