    Silencer Help

    Hello!

I’m looking for a very specific prop for a film, and thought you guys might have the brilliant knowledge to help me! This is an image of a PH MM1 Sound Mod.

    I think I’ve found the exact model here: http://www.williamshearer.co.uk/index.p ... rator-22rf).

The only thing that doesn't match is the bit sticking out of the end is on the right-hand side of my first picture though. Any ideas? Is it an adaptor, or is there a different model, which has that extension? Most either have a tapered end, or it's just flat....

    Thanks so much!

Some mods screw straight on to the end of the barrel, others slide over the end (reflex)for a few inches before they screw on, while yet others slide on & are then secured with a grub-screw perpendicular to the barrel.

Different variants of the same mod can have minor differences like that or it could be an adaptor for a different thread pattern.

Designs vary; the diagram shows something like this, except not so large in diameter:

I thought the PH in front of the designation referred to Parker Hale as in the very popular, but no longer seen, is just a tube that screws on to the end of the barrel, no protrusion or over barrel section.
