When did the FWB Sports change to a moulded breech seal?

I've just recently purchased a small job lot of components, with a moulded breech seal in amongst the items. I was wondering when the change was made; could it have been with the Mk3's introduction?

Anyhow, it's surplus to my requirements, so if anyone wants it for £5 posted, they're welcome.

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

From my notes: Regarding the breech seal:
Metric 10mm id x 3mm section. Some were apparently larger at about 15.7mm od x 10.9mm id and 2.4mm section. A German metric 011-25 (11mm id x 2.5 section) is close but a BS 111 will fit. Maybe ser No. upto 5000.

Incidentally the 10mm id x 3mm ring is also good as the 'puffer' seal in an LGR.
    Cheers, Phil

It took me a time to dig the photo up, but I remember it from previously. The tab fits into the slot created where the detent ball bearing lies.

    Breech seal

I seem to remember my MK2 (1988ish) had one of these cylindrical seals.
Life is to be enjoyed, not endured.
