Question BSA ULTRA MMC (Single Shot .177) - IMPROVEMENTS.....?

    Hi fellas,

I used to live on this site but the smartphone and Facebook groups led to me stopping using this site without me even noticing!

Anyway, Right now I'm using an Artemis P-15 in .177 which is just brilliant and a Special Edition HW77 .177 springer that is going to Paul Short this week for a basic tune-it doesn't need anything spectacular doing to it as off the shelf it was superb.

My HW100 got sold due to constant problems with leaks that really got me that disillusioned with the rifle I didn't even want it near me any longer so I decided that I'd keep the two I'd got until....I saw a lovely little BSA Ultra in my local shop for not a lot of dough-totally mint condition and blemish free!

I've shot a string and its pretty good-I really want to get this thing regulated!

Who can fit a HUMA reg into this for me? How much? If you live close enough I'll drop it round in the jeep!

    Cheers lads,

    Ben

    Ben,

Closest tuner to your location that I can think of would be Phil at the Ratworks

    http://www.theratworks.co.uk

    Specialises in regulators and tuning.

There are others that work on BSA rifles if you went the postage route like XTXair for eg

    https://www.xtxair.com

I’ve used both with no complaints

I fitted a Huma reg in my Bsa Hornet(big brother to the ultra) it was very easy.
If you go on XTX Air there are videos to show you how to fit the Huma reg.U tube is your friend.
I have a Bsa ultra Se,I fitted the 325mm long cylinder to my gun and increased the shot count to 80 usable shots,no need for a regulator for me.

improvements, imo in 177 a reg with a longer air res ,quick fill and shroud. fancies imo. something doing with the bolt, it does its job but its on par with a sharps innova.

    The Ultra's a cracker of a rifle.
As for the reg, I think the Huma reg fitted to the MMC, is an external fit and will extend the cyclinder out to where you cannot screw a normal unf fitting silencer on the muzzle so be careful.
My route with sorting an MMC would be to send it to John Bowkett for blueprinting.
When opening the rear bolt on the MMC dont let it slam open, catch it with a finger or thumb to prevent wear.

Had a .177 blueprinted by JB a few years ago and wish I still had it, after swapping and changing over the years the only one close enough to match it so far is the Kalibre cricket at three times the price of what I let it go for...... it is a multi-shot though

The MMC 177, single shot, JB Blueprint Ultra will never be leaving my gun rack to go up for sale .......

Incidentally the heavy hw pellets seem to shoot best accuracy wise a tad less efficient then jsb heavy, but much better groups in this older bsa 177 barrel ..
Looking for TO-6 Trigger unit unmessed with or T0-6 kit for 34
