    Theobens going up in value?

I've been busy working too hard for the last few months and yesterday thought I would have a look around the airgun scene. I was amazed at some of the prices being asked for Theoben SLR98's...they are good rifles, but not a patch on the SLR88's. What other rifles are going up in value so much?

Am I right in thinking that Theobens have always been overpriced

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

I'm with you Pete on this, owned a fenman to see what the fuss was about and sold on very quickly, my hw90 out shot it in every way. Not saying they are crap but imo overpriced.

The HW90 has the Rekord trigger and is an excellent rifle..
Theoben's are extremely well made. Expectations are they should shoot easy too, but at the end of the day they are just a gasram springer with all the issues of a piston powered air push system. 1/2 as forgiving, but not PCP perfect.
The Rapid 7 PCP part I don't know about, others who do can chip in here.

Going up in value? They were never cheap to start with. Think they are just holding their own. No more are going to be made thats for sure. No one is going to build to that standard again. Well only through superior manufacturing techniques and then its more about margins and target markets.

Enjoy them for what they are. I've always though them good value. But not because they are a better or best mousetrap.

The hw90 does not have the record trigger. They made a trigger to fit the hw90 called the elite. Thats why a record unit will not work on the hw90.ť

If i could get an SLR88 Ultra Carbine Grand Prix it would make me very happy, they are such gorgeous well balanced rifles. N9 idea what the price would be though?
