    HW97K silencing

Hi all, long time since I posted on here

Anyway, recently I bought a HW97K to replace my old HW90K. The gun is fantastic, much better than the 90 in my opinion, better trigger, much smoother, and a lot more accurate.

Only thing is, it seems a lot louder to me. As a back garden plinker, silence is important to me. I've read using the search function that the silencer can be improved by adding scotchbrite or similar inside it, but I was wondering whether a tune would actually be a better bet. Most of the noise seems to me to be coming from the mechanical action of the gun, not from the report.

Anyone out there with more experience in this field care to advise me? Many thanks for any input!

Most of the noise comes from big lumps of metal clattering about 2" from your ear. Sort that and it will be a quieter and more pleasurable experience

Remove the twin springs if it has them from inside the silencer.

This made my rifle quieter and cured an annoying twang I had!

Just unscrews at the end like the HW100 silencer.

    Use marigolds.

Or, if you're not a wife-swapping, caravan owning fetishist, a 7mm allen key.

No marigolds but the 7mm key was tried and nothing!

Is this even a original silencer as there is no seam there to suggest it comes apart at all.
