In my experience - excellent. I have a new one and so have a couple of club members. I did strip mine after a few shots but didn't see the need to modify anything just added a smear of suitable grease/tar onto the mainspring.
I fitted a Sports peep sight which works well with the inter changeable foresight unit.

Going by my experience very good.
I got my one off fellow bbs member Chippendale ,at the Boinger bash and it had very little use before I took charge of it.
I will be useing it on the Bell target at the next Bash.

    Many thanks for the replies.

I have been shooting at 10m, all week & i'm enjoying the challenge, i reduced the power on my 177 80, & it shoots well with express & fap's, also been shooting my 80 in 25, but wanted something in 177 with iron sights.
I was given an smk a few months ago, & was shooting that today as it has iron sights, might px it against a 30..

Whats the difference between the two 30 models ?

The 30S has the Rekord trigger, Rob, and is the one to go for.

I'm not sure if there are any further differences as I have never seen the standard model in the flesh, but the far better trigger on the S would make it a no brainer.

As well as the Rekord and Perfect trigger versions I have seen a couple with the basic, fixed front sight unit.

I have the 99s and 30s , for 10 mtr target shooting the 30s is all you would need .In .177 they have a lovely fireing cycle.

    Rob,

The HW30S is a lovely rifle.

However, mine (brand new in box) had horrible galling, and even the factory test shooting had led to horrible scrapes - please see photo below

When sorted, and fitted with a Vortek PG2 kit, the HW30S is a beautiful rifle to shoot.

Fitting an aperture rear sight will allow the full potential of the HW30S to be exploited.

Have fun & a good weekend

    Best regards

    Russ
