I CAST a 210gr SP gas checked bullet and size to .313,
I use it in my Nagant and Enfield,
to very good effect,

I use the PPU bullets fron Krank's. Either the 170 0r 174 weights. N140 works fine.
I shoot cast in my Mosins all the time. I use the Lee .312-185, my mould casts out at .316" and I size to .315. Best loads with N140 pushes these out at just under 2200 fps. Slug your barrel before using cast, I have examined two unfired Polish M44s when they were first imported in the 1980's, I actually opened the crate, and both were over .318", so no good for cast unless I had a custom mould.
I have a custom Lee 6 cavity mould which is a copy of the RCBS 185gn Silhouette bullet.
It is gas checked and casts at 0.312.
I use the start load of N140 (off hand I think its 38gn but believe I do use 35gn - notes not to hand) which gives me an estimated 2000fps.
Extremely economical and pleasant to shoot.
I sue the same bullet in 303 and 7.5 swiss.
Ideal for use on an ETR range.
Yep I’ve been loading 54r for a little while, 41gr of n140 with 181gr ppu .311 bullets and it shoots lovely
Sako A7.270,b14hmr 6.5cm,Weatherby vanguard.223,Browningt-bolt.17hmr,Ruger American.22l,M1903 30/06,Marlin.44 and a fireball throwing m44
Ive just got myself a load of cases and have cleaned them ready to start loading! Ill probably go for the .311 ppu route
I have just stripped the gun down, sanded the old varnish off all the wood and will re finish it later in the week! Then ill order some bullets
