    Name That Gun

Just sold at auction for £130 plus auction fees.

An old Lincoln Jeffries pattern BSA underlever,no serial number prefix, just the number 1386.

Any ideas as to the model and age?.

Its a first batch BSA air rifles (Lincoln jeffries pat) from 1905

£130 plus fees is a damn good price

The gun in question did appear to have spent some time at the bottom of the Irish sea.

But unfortunately the woodworm must have had scuba gear.

So 1386 and 13981 effectively one and same model and year?,1905 must have been a prolific year at the BSA factory

13981 would be 1907/1908. Sixth batch of the Lincoln air rifles.

Would an early example such as this be a standard or light model?.

They made both Standards and Light/Ladies models that year (1908). Would need to know the overall length. (I think I am right in saying the Standard and Light models both used the same length stock (14 1/4 inch) so it is only the cylinder and barrel length that was different).

I'll have to get the tape measure out when I get to pick it up.
