    i`m suprised this works?
    normally, the lever is closed and goes over centre to lock up
    opened by pulling the lever outwards, something that the connecting rod cannot do,
    we really need a video of it being loaded up and fired without holding onto the remote cocking handle

    still, nice work!

    I understand exactly what you are saying, and would be inclined to agree had I not tried it. It’s not the easiest thing to do single handed while holding a camera, but this should show you. The closed position of the linkage actually points in towards the action a bit, which would make you think it would work even less, but it doesn’t seem to affect it.

    In your case the line of the force is not overcentre as you've picked up on the inside of the curve of the cocking lever, very neat.
