If you mean me, Dave, I haven't got a clue and the Mr Thyme probably knows a lot more about SSPs than I ever will.

Didn't Daystate make an SSP for a few years 1988-95 ? May be wrong, the one I am thinking of may have been a PCP. The stock shape looked familiar.

I thought maybe Daystate some parts look like the old falcon guns, too well finished off to be a prototype though.

If there’s literally nothing stamped on it in terms of a maker or serial number it could be a one off built by someone very talented?

Looks to me like a one-off. Could even be a Bowkett one-off, perhaps.

The Daystate Sportsman was based on the earlier Titan Mohawk. When Titan stopped making the Mohawk Daystate either bought up the remaining parts or kept them briefly in manufacture to make their version of an SSP.

    Justin: no further hints?

The owner is of the impression that it may be one of JB's, but looking at it, it is not like any I own or have seen over the years and certainly too well presented to be a prototype, as mentioned earlier I suspect it may be a one off by another very talented individual .... I'm still trying to obtain some history... I have met a couple of very competent guys in the past that have produced excellent "Home Made" examples of airguns that would put some of the mainstream manufacturers to shame and which bear no identification marks to show their provenance ... this could be the first SSP

I'd say that's a prototype of the Dragon.

If it was a Dragon proto that would make it a LASER12? Wahoo...

Daystate made the sportsman, it's not one of those.

To me, it has the look of a prototype about it.

Definitely not a Laiser 12 . Would have been nice if it was.
Could be a proto one though.

Nothing like the Dragon Hammy, can't see anything resembling valve setting arrangement in trigger housing and this one appears to cock by rearward withdrawal of bolt in breech.
