I see this book is availlable for £18 new from Amazon, Is this a reprint I wonder? Worth buying if you don't have it.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.
There is a new version of the book, somewhat extended although I have not seen a copy, just the cover in an advert as on Amazon. The new edition says 'pistols' on the cover as well.
Seems the original edition is becoming collectable judging from the prices being asked at times.

Come to Kempton and buy them direct from the author
, from memory he will be on Column 3, table number 2.
I bought his book two fairs back and it is very good indeed.
I've made a note of that Pete.
About time I learnt a bit more than how to polish them.
Quentin's book is indeed an enlarged and revised edition, which is now 336 pages long.
A very good read, although some of the historical detail contains errors. In fairness, this is a mammoth project intended for maintenance rather than a history lesson though.
Well recommended.
John
Not sure that's right, Phil. The original book covered air pistols too and was also 208 pages long.
Here's a review I wrote in 2006:
