    Question Steel tubing

    Where does one purchase the 30mm steel tube from for a hw80 25mm conversion?

    is hopeless

    The problem you have is your required internal dimension is too close to what is known a ‘nominal bore’, in your case 1” nb. Any pipe/tube you find around that size will be just over 25mm ID, so you have no material left for a finish cut.
    See *bay 221896041212 to see what I mean.

    You may have more luck finding a tube more designed for structural uses than fluid transfer, race car cages, kart chassis etc.

    I found some 30mm od 24mm id maybe get 0.5mm machined off it?

    I would always work on the assumption you’ll need to machine finish it. Stock materials are never truly round.
    How long does the finished tube need to be?

    Less than 4" but I won't know until I get to strip the action to get measuring

    These are the tube specs for the tube that Bigtoe sent me to sleeve my 35 down --- no refinishing needed on ID or OD. :-

    Just make it a 24mm conversion instead - that's exactly what I did with my HW80
    Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

    Tempted to but that'll be a lot of wet and dry to remove that 1mm (no lathe)
