Another vote for the Torx, got me out a trouble a few times.
Did anyone mention torx?
What about one of those star shaped bits, can’t remember what they are called, any idea?

Hi I had the same problem and I just got some mitre bond (strong super glue)
Glued the Alan key in place until it set then removed without a problem!!

If torx doesn't work last resort is an easy out. Always use a good quality set especially for small diameters.

I'm not sure I'm reading this post right because you ask about an Allen key "fitting" an Allen bolt head. I read nothing about a damaged head needing to be removed! Most replies are assuming you have a damaged head!
If you simply need to find an Allen key that fits an undamaged head, first check it's not Torx, then buy a GOOD quality set of metric and imperial Allen keys, and then see if any of those fit. If the head is not damaged, you may be finding nothing you currently have fit because the the key that 'would fit' is slightly rounded off (damaged).
If you do indeed have a damaged Allen key head (rounded off internally) then that is a different conversation!
