By some miracle, and after much looking, last Thursday I too became the owner of a FWB602

I was even more surprised that the seals were in fine condition and seems to hold pressure.

    Shoots 580 fps (6.2 ft.lb) with JSB Match Blue (8.28 gr.), and 610 fps (5.8 ft.lb) with RWS R10 Pistol (6.99 gr.)

After a quick strip, lube & stock clean & polish, the 602 not only looks beautiful, but shoots beautifully too.

As a cherry on the cake, mine really likes my go-to field pellet - JSB Express 4.52

Have fun & a good Sunday

    Best regards

    Russ

    Nice one, Russ.

I bought mine at mate's rates, which was less than all the valuations on this thread, the chap I bought it from just wanted rid of it as he'd given up Bell Target and as he pointed out when he was competing he only shot six pellets a week through the gun.

On the seals front the breech seal inside the slide on mine sometimes sticks to the barrel but a little Evostic could sort that out --- I'm loath to use Superglue as it would take a lot of cleaning out in the future if I replaced the seal.
The rest of the seals seem to be working nicely, but I haven't run her over the chrono yet, I noticed on a stripdown video on YouTube that the power can be raised or lowered a little by altering the hammer Spring tension --- more important in Germany as the 602 is capable of going over their legal limit.

    All the best Mick

    Mick,

Yup - the Nebelbrett vids on UTube are very good (he has a 601, but the dis-assembly is similar) :

Cheers for that, Phil, IIRC Dave used to do repairs for City Air Weapons in Brum, so I'm happy to take his word as gospel on the matter.

Cheers for posting those links, Russ, I'd already watched Nebelbrett's video stripdown and service, and after my quick chrono session today I think I'll be doing the same this winter.

The highest muzzle energy I saw today was a very consistant 5.88ftlbs using FTTs so I'll be carrying out a full service on her after the next Boinger Bash.

You could always do a 'farm fix' on the front end if you were worried about it, Mick. Some bailing twine, or a cable tie if you wanted it to look smart?

I'm lovin it maybe link to the honest restoration thread,I can see a series developing from this I had visions of Martin grabbing his dog under one arm the 300 on the other and muddling out with his bad leg a bit like BB King grabbing Lucille in a fire but forgetting his kecks

It was nearly like that, Gav.

Apparently Martin jumped into the flat to rescue Madge, who just suffered a bit of smoke inhalation --- his 300 is kept at my place.
