Vintage bsa 4 x 33 jap optics scope question

I came across this old scope while sorting some gear, it's a vintage Jap optics BSA 4 x 33 with fine reticle in not bad condition, few marks here and there, complete with leather lens caps. It has a serial number and the look and feel of it made me wonder if it's collectable as it's a good quality bit of kit. The eye bell grip rings looks like the old Redfield ones, anyway, so thought I should ask on here before advertising it. It would look the part on the right gun so any idea of value ? A few pictures below. Thanks.

Is the ring gold or silver?

I have an incling that its something from around 1978. BSA had all sorts of scopes badged for itself. Some were better than others. Its all in how bright the glass is. 1978, well pre 1980, because of the fine crosshair which was in favour at that time; early days for better Jap scopes. Might be US made?? Think I can remember something like that with a gold ring.

If the glass cleans up well and clean inside and out then its a worthy scope for a period BSA rifle. £35 or £45 wouldn't be robbimg anyone as its a fun spec being 4x33. Would suit most BSA's of that time. However, its not of the condition to get a full fat premium; mint you could triple that.
