That bit is not open to dispute...just whether Steve Harper was actually innovative or a pirate

It is not possible in modern times for someone to patent someone else's patent in another country, the patent examiners will see to that. So no one can be accused of knocking off other people's ideas in their patent. In the very unlikely event that this were to happen, then the second patent would be easily invalidated and a lot of money in patent expenses would go down the drain.

The devil will be in the detail and I am sure that if you studied the various patents, you would find that the claims refer to different specialised innovations in the design and the construction.

Other than Steve Harper's design using a direct action switch and FWB/Morini using a traditional trigger mated to essentially the same microswitch, with all three firing a solenoid, it's difficult to see what material difference there is...
I wouldn't have thought that alone would be deemed unique enough to get a separate patent - so I wonder if the addition of the fixed, manually indexable magazine was actually the differentiation, rather than the electronics?

This is why its interesting though.

I patented my own cartridge a while ago and you have to prove " a novel and inventive step" so essentially fewer parts or better materials or improved reliability. You can't re patent an idea either, and yes a full search is carried out by a examiner before going to grant. It's an interesting process and now mostly all available on line.....

I think you will find Steve Harper's patent is on the Electronic valve as opposed to the trigger mech. The Wolf was the first to use his electronic valve, now synonyms with Daystate, I could be wrong but as the valve was electric he used a button for the trigger, so no plagiarism on a FWB 90 (also as it's spring) not sure on the Morini.

Good point about the FWB as that must be just solenoid triggered sear.
But Morini use a microswitch and solenoid fired hammer and the Wolf uses essentially the same system as far as I can tell...

Hi This is my first go on this forum, hope I'm doing it right. Have just got a Wolf NO. A90 and would like to ask if you would tell me the Serial numbers and Cal. of your Harpers. Trying to work out how many of each type made. I think only 25 carbines made. Thanks in anticipation
