Sussex Interclub HFT 2018 - Round 10 Results
Hi All
And so those of us brave enough to venture out on a slightly damp Sunday morning went to Horsham for the final competitive round (10) of the 2018 SIHFT series.
Horsham did us proud, producing a course which did its best to deliver something new, and I am certain that some of the areas cleared in the woodland and walkways opened up, will add significant interest in the future. As it was we were presented with lanes though very narrow channels and some where you wished for a light switch, many of which led to range finding difficulty. And that wretched breeze in the field could NOT make its mind up which way to waft. Left to right – right to left – or zip; it would shift within a second. Surely caught me out twice, just as I was on my final handful of targets.
While some were already pretty much done-n-dusted, there remained much to play for in the Open class. Today’s results showed, if ever it were needed, that you should never give up; wherever you are in your own performance ‘table’, shooting your best – or better – brings results you might not have expected.
Here’s the full table of today’s results and I will follow this shortly with the individual league tables, linked from posts both here and our SIHFT Facebook page. When it comes to final year cumulative results, keep in mind that the table below shows scores only to 1 decimal place. I know that it will need more than this to separate some of our winners.…..

Big congratulations to Buxted for hanging on – by a healthy margin – to the Team Trophy for another year.
Prize drawer winners today were :
• Justin Rayner who won the £25 cash prize, and
• Nick Byrne was pleased to walk off with today’s Air Arms goody bag
With the exception of the final round of the 2018 UKAHFT national comp at Quarry (hope to see a bunch of you down in Wales), there appears to be nothing else on our calendar until we gather at Ford HFT for our end-of-year event and trophy ceremony on Sunday 28th October. I will post news of that shortly, including a list of those of you who have earned (by entering the minimum 6 SIHFT rounds) a place in the end-of-year prize draw; just remember that you have to be there to win when/if your SIHFT 'lottery' number is drawn.

PS
starting to prep the end-of-season table, I have just spotted that Scott Somerville did win his 5th Gold Badge today and should have walked off with his very well earned SIHFT Platinum.
Sorry Scott.
I did have a look today, but must have been with my eye's half shut.

Thanks Mike for putting the results up so fast.......yet again, go put your feet up.
Top shooting there Charles & Scott.........what a result, fantastic skills well done.
Thanks to Horsham for yet another challenging course, going well at first till I met the field, as Mike said, wind really unpredictable so much so I had 1 shot go over 2" left next door
Well pleased that Gabriel got on with his new zero & it seemed to improve things on the long shots at least.
Roll on Ford

It's been a great sihft year, some great courses set by all hosting clubs, some devious targets set all within the confines of the UKAHFT rules. Made a few new friends along the way and had some mad giggles with all the old ones. Thanks to Mike and Charles for running the show, good job. Cheers Aaron, time to ditch that girly pop gun, get yourself a springer and join the fun.
Thanks to Chilly too for being a true sportsman, shame you couldn't shoot more rounds.

Thank you
Thank you Horsham. Loved the new course! By the time Pat and I got to 25 we thought we had crossed into a different time zone it was so dark
See you all at Ford on the 28th.
