    Artemis M30

I am waiting for my M30 to disappoint me as I am not a total optimist.

New design from over the waters, low price etc etc.

The length and looks are impressive/ alarming - think 8 bore shotgun.

But indoors so far so good till yesterday when I tried to load the plastic mag.

First pellet goes in from the back backwards flip mag over and load another 11.
    No chance.
After 20 mins I decided it was broken.

After a cup of tea I realised that I was an idiot and the mag loaded and works well.

    I was over thinking it.
You just move the plastic cover clockwise and load to the left.
Another line or pic in the manual would have helped.

Off to the range later in the week with fingers crossed.

    So do I ...so far.

Its lighter than it looks, works well and easily.

The single shot tray is a lesson to Daystate.

As usual with these SMK imported PCPs you get a full seal kit - not sure if thats an encouraging sign.

A better quality stock would help, it is light beech.
But then the price would go up.

Ive had the little SMK 900 for a couple of years and that is great fun to shoot with its open sights.
A pcp with open sights ,is there another one?

    Air effects

I was wondering with the barrel being inside the air cylinder if the pressure would affect it, it could be under 200 or 100 bar pressure. Just curious.

Accuracy at breezy range good today.

177 -not keen on AA Fields 4.52.
Much better with H&N ftt 4.50.

    Hawke 3-9-40 ao scope

Penny size groups at 30 yards.
    And I will get better.

Good trigger with long first stage which I like.

I used the single shot tray which needs care as this gun can swallow pellets!
Mag probably better in this respect.

Seems to have high shot capacity and holds air ok.

Need to borrow mates chrony next but power seems right.

What a weird looking gun reminds me of a Bretton and Gaucher phantom.410 my mate used to have.
    Top marks for originality

Depending on the breeze that sounds pretty good

Ive shot better guns and worse.

But the better ones cost a lot more!

Im still getting used to it and will try different pellets tomorrow.

Im pleased with it overall so far.

Myself i think it would be better if it was shorter, be interested to see the results if the gun was filled to its maximum fill pressure. Fire say 5-10 shots then do the same test at half the pressure and again when the pressure is low and see if the point of impact stays the same.
