I knew you would see the point of that target, I had posted about it a while back on another forum, heres what was said:
This follows from the discussion about FT rule changes, its not meant to be a nod to everyone having to change targets due to a few moaners/cheats, it was just me looking at what's available and seeing if it can be improved.
I really like the cam lever lock affair on current silhouettes and cannot easily see a way that can be improved but the overall package can be I think.

So this one has some advantages:
- as already discussed paddle in front means a split hits paddle first the split piece then hitting the plate, I am not sure this would make it easier for a split to knockover a target but it looks like it might
- no pieces of lead go behind the plate, these can be a big cause of failures
- a club only needs 30 plates but can then fit any size, or shape, paddle to those plates in seconds
- if the nut on the stem is moved the sensitivity of the target can easily be adjusted, useful were angled shots are set
On this prototype the biggest error is when falling the stem hits one of the lever hinges, easy to change.
I know, current targets work, what's the point, they will be expensive.....blah de blah, its me messing in the workshop😁
I agree it would be interesting to see some slowmotion video...current targets work just fine if maintained but this design may save a club some money if buying a whole set from scratch.
