Parking will be anywhere sensible that doesn't block any shed entrances or vehicles in. Weather permitting we may have use of the second field up otherwise two wheels on two wheels off up the lane.

Course will be set to 2019 rules.

Not sure. The organisers have quoted 2019 in their opening post so I am sure they will be soon if not already.

    Hi Everyone,

Just thinking that this will be the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. Quite some anniversary!

11th November was an anniversary I knew well as a child. My mother lost all of her uncles - four or five, I think (she would have been 105 this year); and my father lost one too (he would have been 107). Not wishing to get too dramatic or soppy here, but I do hope we can make the 2 minutes silence a solemn occasion for remembering all that that generation did for us today.

    Sincerely,

    Phil

Absolutely nothing soppy or dramatic about showing respect for people who decided to make the ultimate sacrifice for what they believed was right...and were then proven to be correct in that.

I sadly cannot attend Sunday due to helping out with one of the many Remembrance events, I trust all at Buxted will show due respect.

Either side of that 2 minutes, hope you all smile lots

This shoot will be to the proposed new rules for the up coming 2019 UKAHFT season. As is the norm these proposed changes are tested out over the winter months by clubs and winter series organisers to make sure they are suitable for any update.

There are a few changes re various things but for Sunday you don't need to worry as I will be setting the course in accordance with them.

However the course of fire has been altered regarding certain Hit Zone sizes and their maximum distances in some instances has changed. Please look at the below list as the way you rangefind may be affected if you don't know the new proposed changes that will be in use Sunday.

15-19mm Hit zone Targets from 13-25yds.
20-24mm Hit zone Targets from 8-30yds.
25-29mm Hit zone Targets from 8-35yds.
30-34mm Hit zone Targets from 8-45yds. There can be up to three 30-34mm kills at between 35 and 45 yards.
35-45mm Hit zone Targets from 8-45yds.

    Gutted

You must be gutted Andy...no more 25mm at 40 yards, but on the plus side you can set 30mm at 45 yards...bargain

Are positional rules staying the same ?

The provisional updates are still being finalised, but as we are the first round I have had to jump the gun a bit in releasing these changes which will be trialed through out the Series. Other changes are mostly geared towards clearing up ambiguities and fairness.

I am sure they will be posted soon.

The above changes to the 2018 rules for 2019 are these the only ones?

Is there any changes to postionals?

Is there somewhere where we can read up on the proposed 2019 rules.

    Cheers.

Remember these are provisional rules for 2019 that The Southern Hunters are trialing for their 2018-2019 season. After which UKAHFT will take on board any feedback and decide on whether to implement or not.

So on Sunday 25mm prone shots will be limited to a maximum distance of 35yds like back in the day.

You are allowed eight 25mm which consist of 20mm to 34mm targets. Of these a minimum of two targets must be 20mm so you are allowed a maximum of six 30mm however only three can be between 35yds to 45yds.

If you are shooting elsewhere they may well be shooting the current 2018 rules.

    Nope...

Nope, read that several times and have no idea....maybe I need to drink more ...I will carry on turning up and trying to knock over what ever is in front of me (although always the bridesmaid), why is it presented as sooo complicated...or is it just me (I know someone will now post "just you"...go on, you know you want to).

Glad you "back room boys" are on it...does anyone really have the brain power to remember all the sizes they have shot on a course, if they do (and I think some come close) then, hats off, they deserve the wins.

Again, don't know if its just me but it's the minimum size and maximum range that matter, so now 15 out to 25, 20 out to 30, 25 out to 35 and 30 out to 45, that has a sort of simplicity to it......make everything start from 8 yards again, to simplify it even more I say

My eyes wont bracket kills at range, top scope or not, so this may help even things

The difference between a 25 at 40 and a 35 at 45 was readable, good luck with that now...you got to love those sneaky buggers

I like the sound of it...lets hope it "works".
