    Self education books .

I'd like to try and expand my knowledge on spring air-guns ( rifles mainly ) from not very much up towards a bit more than not very much.

So working on the old fashioned basis that the best information source is generally found in books I thought my first book purchases would be best backed up by advice from those that know.

    My interests are.

    1, maintenance / repairs etc

    2, BSA springers

Mercury / Airsporters / Goldstar etc

    3, Webleys

    MK 3 history
    Omega
    Vulcan

    4, Target Rifles

    Original 75/66/65/50's
    FWB 300S /U/150

I'd like to learn about rifles I've got and or just like and how to at least do some basic maintenance on the rifles that are a bit more novice friendly to work on.

I like the 60's 70' s 80's and some 90's stuff as well. Oh and old webleys.

Question is which are the first half dozen books you'd recommend to cover the above ?

    Many Thanks.

Thanks I will take a look

I've just spotted Webley Air Rifles 1925-2005.

    Looks good but pricey .

Could do with finding a bulk buy discount bookshop online.

Honestly, nowadays, I'd recommend reading through posts on forums like this one and, YouTube videos.

Also, if possible, buying some of the rifles that you mention and taking them apart (while taking a few pictures of where bits go along the way).

Good luck, I hope the enthusiasm sticks 👍

    All of the above.

And don't forget Cardew's earlier book THE AIR GUN FROM TRIGGER TO MUZZLE
