Airsporter MK2 availability and price advice

For some reason I never seem to come across the venerable Airsporter in mk2 guise these days after seeing loads just a few years ago, as it's almost time for a Christmas treat I was thinking of hunting one out.. Is anyone else out there seeing these available, and if so what sort of price am I looking at for a minter?

I seem to be almost tripping over the later models but as the MK2 was the first air rifle I fired, I really feel the need to get back to my shooting roots

Just to be a pain in the bum I really mean mint/as close to new as possible, or are they all hiding in the collectors cupboards

Did you have the one with 4 separate cuts for the scope?

Any idea of a realistic price for a mint/near mint gun?

Well there was one on here in exceptional condition a while back that sold for £400
There was one at KP in VGC with sight protector for £170 and another, not etched for £80.

There were over a dozen Mark 1 and Mark 2 Airsporters and Clubs at the last Kempton. I even saw a short cylindered E prefixed Club, which is only the 3rd I have ever come across. At the Kempton prior to the last, the was a very nice Club 'Mark 2' with tidy etching, which was only the 2nd such example I have ever come across.

In short, anyone looking for an early Airsporter or Club, not to mention later variants, boxed and unboxed will be spoilt for choice at Kempton.

With a few notable exceptions such as the much missed Bisley fairs, that was invariably the case here too until quite recently. We have Binners and his hard working wife Liz to thank for the exceptional number and standard of airguns offered at Kempton.
