What's the trigger like ?
I have had bad groups with a record trigger that was not set up very well but on the face of it seemed ok .
Admitedly 9" groups have to be the the barrel though.

Trying hard to keep it down to 10 rifles.
Have you tried shooting some pellets in to water so that you can look for any type of damage caused during shooting ?
might give you a better idea of where to start looking.

On the other hand ....... it could be a fault with the sights in use....
Just a thought - another avenue to follow.

Barrel might have a loos fit.
This happened to three older HW97's I know off.
My brother is the owner of one of them.
V-mach internals and suddenly it starts to spray around.
Corrosion loosend the barrel fit in the housing.
Cure we found was welding the barrel to the housing.
Problem solved. Can take pictures if needed.
