Shout Out for Shaun at ISP Air Rifles for Falcon FN12 Reblue

I recently posted on BBS asking for recommendations for someone to reblue my Falcon FN12 Lighthunter.

You guys recommended Shaun at ISP Air Rifles and he accepted the job.

In less than a week, Shaun has stripped, polished, reblued, reassembled the action and returned it to me. He's done a fantastic job, polished out all the imperfections and applied a high quality deep bluing. I can't figure out how to upload pics, otherwise I'd show you Shaun's work.

Thanks to all on BBS for the recommendation and thanks to Shaun, a true craftsman.

    Thanks Murphy, pics sent.

Not the best quality pics, they don't do Shaun's work justice, but they're the best I can take with my camera.

Please note, no grub screw damage around the muzzle!

Shaun polished out the screw indents and now this barrel will remain pristine.

Thanks guys, there's a bit of a back story to this rifle

Back in the 90's I purchased a brand new FN8 Light Hunter that I loved, but for some insane reason that escapes me now, some time later I sold it to a BBS member and regretted it ever since. I've always had it in mind to replace the rifle with an FN8 or FN12, but mint or fefurbishable examples are rare and get snapped-up fast. So I found this rifle on Guntrader a few weeks back, too far for me to travel, but the dealer was very up front and explained the condition in detail, so I took a punt. Luckily a previous owner had plastered the stock with lacquer, which had protected it and I was able to strip, sand, oil and wax it back to new condition. Shaun has brought the action back better than new and I've topped it with a Sportsmatch one-piece Falcon mount and Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 AO Mil Dot scope. The Best Fittings quick fill has finished the rifle nicely, although I will be on the look out for an original Falcon QF adapter in mint condition.

It's Christmas, so nice to have a story with a happy ending

Looks better than new!! I’ve just bought a s400 carbine which has been shown no love at all and is in serious need of a reblue and service. Where abouts is Shaun based and how much was it for the rebluing if you don’t mind my asking? Thanks

Shaun is with ISP Air Rifles near Birmingham and contact is via the ISP Facebook page.

I’m sure every job will be priced on labour and parts, mine cost £100 plus about £12 each way Parcelforce 48.

Good luck, I hope you get your rifle looking good as new!
