Nope, you're certainly not the only one, Paul.

Well, saying that I don't like it would be a bit strong and I do feel that from some angles it does look stunning. But I've never felt the urge to own one. When I was to treat myself to another high-end springer a couple of years ago I went for a TX HC Walnut. If I didn't own so many HWs already it would have been another of Hermann's finest for sure. The desire to own something different made an AA the one to go for, but I could have so easily have plumped for yet another HW.

And, the more I think about it, I can't help but think that the HW98, thumbhole '97 variants and the synthetic '97 are as aesthetically pleasing as anything currently out there in terms of off-the-shelf guns. Add to that the solid build and the sheer array of tuning and customising goodies available will see their continued success.
