just been given a gamo igt whisper and was wondering if anybody knows the size of the scope mounts i need to use

i've tried searching online but had no luck

Standard 9-11mm mounts with whatever scope tube size you will be fitting.

If you mean what height, it depends on what size scope is fitted, a wide objective size (50mm+) might foul the rifle on low or medium so would need high,

But more importantly when you shoulder the rifle naturally with your cheek resting on the stock comb, the scope needs to be directly in front of your eye without your having to strain or stretch.
To check that you need to shoulder it & get comfortable with your eyes closed, then open your sight eye, if the scope is not right there perfect you need to move it until it is.
