    First post in a while

    Hi everyone
I have just returned to airgun shooting and am surprised to see all the old guns I used to shoot are still around.
I’m thinking of buying a decent springer are any of the newer models worth considering
    Thanks
    Nick

Hi Nick and a very warm welcome back.

Assuming that you're referring to all-round "sporting" springers, choosing from any of the following will see you good, dependant on size, feel, handling etc. Be sure to try as many as you can to determine which will suit you best:-

    Weihrauch HW77, 97, 98, 95, 80 and 35.

    Walther LGV and LGU.

    Air Arms TX200 and Prosport.

    Diana 280 and 34.

If you are to include used ones, the choice will be even more vast and I'd be including Birmingham made Webley Longbow, Tomahawk and Stingray. Maybe even a BSA Superstar. And then if we're looking at modern classics, the choice gets wider still....

Any that you're fancying in particular and what sort of shooting do you intend doing?

they are Nick and thats not because i have one up forsale,
the Lothar Walther company are well known for quality gun barrels and guns,
i currently have x2 LW airguns the LGU which is a underleaver in .22cal
and the LW challenger break barrel also in .22cal, i am selling some guns because i simply have too many and some are not being used so i am having a clear out.

Yes, the new Umarex Walthers are very good, the LGV in particular has many fans. More often than not they shoot very nicely out of the box. Many would say, however, that the triggers need a fettle to be as nice as a Weihrauch Rekord or Air Arms CD unit. Parts and tuning goodies seemingly not as easily available as for the HW and AA. But they do shoot very nicely and a fair few owners state that the LGV is most accurate springer they've owned.

As always, try to get to grips with as many as you can to get a feel for which one will suit you best.
